Dominic Wheatley returns to MINI JCW with Graves Motorsport
Dominic Wheatley will continue with the team for a season in the MINI CHALLENGE UK JCW class following on from a successful debut year.
The 2021 MINI CHALLENGE Trophy Champion graduated to the series' premier class in 2022 and began to learn his new car. At the second round he threatened top 10 finishes which came at the later Snetterton event. Now with a season under his belt he will hope to push on and be a regular in the top 10 with an aim of podium finishes.
Team manager David Graves said, “We are delighted that Dom is returning to the JCW class this year, he’s a fantastic addition to the team both on and off the track. He improved significantly throughout last year and had top ten results in his debut season, we’re sure he’ll be a regular there this year. Off track Dom and his family are a welcome addition to our team, his MINI Trophy Championship title is also of significant importance to us as Dom will continue to coach our Trophy line up of drivers, already securing a first win under his tutorship last weekend.”
Dominic added, “I’m thrilled to be racing for Graves Motorsport again this season. Last year was a steep learning curve for me after moving up to the JCW class but the team were very good at developing the car and my driving to get the best out of both. I’m sure with the knowledge gained last season we can be sure for great results this year.”
Dominic and team-mate Nelson King will start the season next weekend (21-22 April) at the Donington Park circuit in Derbyshire. A qualifying session will determine the grid position for round one later on Saturday afternoon with the two Sunday races to follow, the latter broadcast live on ITV4.
